Chose this campsite for my 3 year old son’s first camping experience. Stayed overnight non-electric pitch Saturday to Sunday. There are lots of sites in the area but we were not disappointed with Carsington Fields and would highly recommend this site. Spacious pitches on the top field, brilliant dog walk with bins and bags available, friendly pygmy goats, ducks and hens on the site. Very clean and tidy. Excellent toilets/showers. Very friendly and welcoming owners/staff. We cannot wait to return in a few weeks for another camping adventure!

A very pleasant site with attentive hosts that are always there to help with a smile. Family oriented with definite quiet time… Dog walk and poop bags to help if you’ve forgotten! Carsington water provides several water based opportunities if the walking and cycling around it doesn’t keep you busy enough!

Just getting ready to go up to this site for Easter. We are lucky enough to have secured a seasonal pitch on this little gem. Pete, Judy and their staff are so friendly they immediately make you feel welcome. Great base if you want to relax and explore the surrounding area if you are more energetic there is Carsington Water nearby and you can hire bikes and cycle round the reservoir and take in the breath-taking scenery or walk it just over 8 miles. Pitches are well placed facilities always immaculate and clean. Everyone always seems so happy on this site and stops for a chat and I`m sure that is down to the dedicated hard work of all staff involved.

Just returned home from yet another fabulous stay at Carsington Fields. Weather was beautiful (not expected as horrendous when we left home). Warm welcome as always and facilities are just great and very clean! I’m not the best camper and go to keep the ‘boys’ happy so this is a must for me! Hot shower in the morning and on an evening before lighting the BBQ and watching my little boy have the time of his life, feeling very independent as he runs around the fields with the other children unaware that I can also have peace of mind knowing he is very safe. In fact he insists this is the best holiday and camping site ever!!! Beautiful (yet hard) bike ride around 8 miles of the reservoir and nice to stop for refreshment at the ‘Miners Pub’. Beautiful campsite and fabulous people running it to perfection. Even I’m sad to be home back in the rain and miss my ‘gem’ of a site. See you soon and thank you! Love the ‘muppets’ that went home & came back again! x

Great campsite, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The toilets and showers were immaculate and the campsite was set out really nice with a pond & ducks, goat area, patios set out with seating area and flowers , dog walking field, dog wash, boot wash, shop and the staff were call very pleasant and helpful .

One of the nicest sites we’ve ever stayed on, well laid out and most pitches have their own tap. Fantastic secure dog walk, spotless toilet/shower block. Lovely to see the resident goats and chickens everyday.

This will be our 4th time back to Carsington fields caravan park. just as brilliant as ever, close walk to carsington water and lical pubs. the site has amazing clean shower and toilet blocks, friendly helpful staff, loads for kids to do but also a beautiful picturesque campsite with large pond, goats, chickens and a great seperate dog walking padock. we will definately be back and look forward to it.

Just returned from a lovely week at Carsington Fields. The site is fab. Showers and toilets were spotless. Judy, Pete, and their team are so friendly. The kids were able to play on the ball game area while we were able to relax at our pitch all in sight :). Site was quiet at night. Beautiful dog walk where they can run off lead, and adored the site goats!!!! Will definitely be returning to Carsington Fields!

From offers to help set up, the boot and dog washing facilities and the little added extras in the toilet and shower facilities, there is nothing that has been left out. We absolutely love this site. We have been every year for the last few years as it is convenient for visiting family who live locally. it is a beautifully maintained site, lots of open space and the pitches are spacious too. It is a quiet and peaceful site and even when there are children running around in the open spaces it doesn't seen noisy at all. The toilet facilities are immaculate and there is always hot running water. The dog field at the back of the site is large and perfect for a quick leg stretch. Basic goods are available from the reception so you won't need to worry if you run out of milk! There are supermarkets in nearby Ashbourne (6miles). Convenient for Carsington Water and there are loads of places to visit in the local area. The site owners and team are really friendly and go out of their way to help. We'll be back again next year!

Just need to say “WOW”, what a beautiful site. We have just spent a lovely weekend in the company of Judy, Rachel and Ray, amazing people who love and nurture this little gem in the Derbyshire Dales.
It is a perfect bike ride to Carsington Water, and lots more to visit within the area.
The little shop on site has all the essentials, in fact if it’s not in the shop, the ladies will find whatever you need from their own home…..
The resident goats, Cara, Van, Cam, and Ping, are really friendly and love a bit of fuss.
We will definitely be returning to this very friendly, family run site very soon.

A very nice campsite we got the joy of visiting with our family of 6 and our new to us motorhome. Due to unfortunate weather conditions we couldn't play or walk on the grass as everything was very soggy but the owners of the campsite can't go far enough to make you feel welcome, one example is the chocolates that our children received when we arrived on the Easter weekend but not only. Everything about this campsite is thought of, from the extremely well equipped and clean bathrooms to the shed with DVDs, books and games and the little shop. It's a shame it's so far from us as we would be going more often than not otherwise ! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed here for Easter with our two little dogs, it’s a lovely friendly quiet campsite in a great location, just down the road from Carsington water. We loved the dog walking field and seeing the goats and chickens. Lovely spotless clean shower block and toilets and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning soon. Thank you we had a lovely stay here.

We had a fabulous short stay. Judy and Pete were both lovely, inviting and very helpful. Judy gave our children ice lollies and loaned us outdoor play items for them to enjoy during our stay.The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate.Fridge, freezer, microwave and washing station for pots and pans were an added bonus!Would definitely recommend and return. Wow....we've found a little gem!!! As three females we felt safe and at home from the minute we arrived. Judy and her team kept a gentle eye on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend this site to anyone. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help ensure that we had a perfect stay. The site is very peaceful and not overcrowded. Clean and modern shower and toilet facilities. They were spotless and had thought of all the little extras. 10 minute walk to carsington water and 10 minute drive to Ashbourne. We will definitely return.

We are staying at Carsington Fields caravan park from the 19 - 24 June. This is our first visit and we love it, I don’t want to go home tomorrow.The owners are very welcoming, couldn’t do enough to help if needed.There’s a lovely fenced off dog walking area so our young lab could run free. The little shop sells all the essentials you may need including fresh eggs from their hens. They have ducks and goats wandering around that don’t cause any bother, but they’re lovely to see.The toilet / shower block is excellent, always clean.I would most definitely recommend this caravan site as it’s peaceful and quiet.

I've just returned from 3 nights camping at this wonderful site. The location, within walking distance of Carsington Water, is stunning, and the site is just lovely with its beautifully kept grounds, memory garden, pond, goats, ducks and chickens.The toilet/shower block is spotless.Judy and her team made me so welcome and it was fascinating to hear about (and see photos of) all the work that has gone into the place over the last 30 years, making it the special and peaceful space it is today.I hope to return before too long:)

After returning home from Carsington Field Campsite, we both want to share how fabulous our 2 nights were. A wonderful grass pitch, electric and water with the sun hitting it all day and toilets, hop skip and jump away to all the pitches fantastically clean, A fantastic dog walking area biggest we have ever come across Belle just loved it, which also had a mini farm in the middle housing goats and chickens which were allowed in the afternoon to roam in the site to their tree at the end of the site with goat settees Love it. So many more reasons to go, but a big thank you is to Judy the owner so so helpful and friendly and even came to say goodbye. The site is also well placed to Carsington water itself for amazing walks.Well Judy thankyou again, we will be back. Carl & Lez and BellePS Belle said thank you for getting her ball out of the chicken coop. Xx

Just returned from another lovely weekend at what has now become our favourite site. The campsite is really well kept, lovely touches to make it feel welcoming, pitches really well spaced. Dog walk is great, love having the goats and chickens to chat to 😄.Possibly some of the cleanest facilities ever seen, little touches such as fresh flowers and toiletries.Staff are always so welcoming, Judy and the team work hard to ensure everyone is happy and they always go the extra mile.Location is perfect for walks around Carsington, and there are a few nice pubs a fair walk or short drive away.Can't recommend enough.

Where do I start!First of all this wouldn’t have been much of a holiday if it hadn’t of been for the help, kindness and happiness of the owners and staff!Judy and Peter, Kate and Dave and Ray, what a team!We are not young but novices at caravaning and these guys just went out their way for everyone!We stayed for seven nights.Toilet and shower facilities were second to none!The little shop on site had all the necessities you require.A nice little dog walk area on site which had poo bags and hand creme and bins at the entry and exit! They have thought of everything to make your stay quite, relaxing and worthwhile.Highly recommendedLooking forward to seeing you all next year

I went to visit and can honestly say it is a very nice, very clean and nice place to stay. It's also very friendly, there is a pond there full of carp who will come and take bread with out any fear ( no fishing allowed) ☹ and it's a 5min drive to Carsington water which is also worth a visit it's a quiet and peaceful place

Really lovely set up. We were 1st time caravanners and the couple that run the site couldn't have been more helpful. Children enjoyed the goats and chickens, and playing ball games on the playing area, whilst other parts of the site were free from ball games. Struck a nice balance, and everyone seemed to really enjoy their stay

Slightly overdue review from our weekend stay in July. Honestly can't fault it.Staff were beyond amazing, friendly, couldn't do enough for us. I'd had a really bad day on arrival and they were really caring.We camped in a tent so were at the back of the site in a field, it was really quiet with only 2 other tents which meant the kids had loads of space to play.Toilet/showers were spotless with lovely flowers and decorations in the ladies (my little boy was jealous he didn't have these things in the gents) and emergency sanitary wear was a really sweet touch. Showers were spacious and a good temperature. There was a hairdryer although unfortunately out of order, but it was such warm weather I didn't miss it!The camping field has it's own water point and bins but the showers, loos, washing areas are shared with the whole site but it's not huge so it wasn't an issue and never had to queue for anything. I could see it being an issue if fully booked but that's the case anywhere.The little shop had a few treats and basics and local eggs and we were able to order takeaway from the local pub to be delivered - however the signal is iffy but the staff will call for you if needed.The site itself is spotless with lovely features such as a the pond, resident goats and ducks and the memory garden and is an ideal base for visiting Carsington and Ashbourne. There is a dedicated dog walking area too.

Visited last week and had a fabulous time. Fantastic gem of a site, nice clean facilities with a few nice touches. Lovely, warm welcoming wardens, who were so kind to our little girl and made her stay special. Wonderful surprise to find friendly goats and chickens on the site as well as ducks and fish to feed. What a wonderful surprise this stay at Carsington Fields has been for a first visit. Wonderful welcome from Judy and her friendly little team. Wide area enclosed by trees, large pitches, lovely pond stocked by humongous and nosey carp, wild flower meadow, goats 🐐 and chickens 🐔. Lots to see in the area and a bus 🚌 stop at the gate.

On arrival I was told by Kate if I had forgotten anything to ask as the caravan before us to check in had forgotten pillows and Kate had lent some out. Really peaceful and close to Carsington water.
